The revolution of emotions
We are entering a new era of fulfillment, where the great dream is to exchange money for meaning in life. Previously, we were in the era of the industrial revolution; now, we are in the digital revolution and already halfway into the next revolution: the revolution of emotions.
Today, everything can be automated except emotions. The world has changed, so seeking the engagement of new generations emphasizes people's creative capacity, not based on hours worked but on goals achieved.
We have eighty billion neurons. Each brain processes seventy billion thoughts per day, and whether we want it or not, we are creative.
How do we transform this creativity into value? To be creative, it is necessary to break down mental barriers and allow oneself to move away from the 'easy' and secure knowledge area to advance into another territory. Learning is what propels us forward and sparks revolution.
We are not psychologically prepared to deal with the expansion of choices in recent history; we are burdened by our past, especially the legacy of our early educational choices. Popular science personality tests rarely help us identify fulfilling careers.
We need emotions because we are not what we see but what we feel. Ninety percent of our daily decisions are unconscious. All emotions are stored in the unconscious, so if the brand (which is us) positively connects with the unconscious, that is the necessary hook for brands to become super famous.
Another very important fact has to do with living the experience. Experience is not told; it is lived. A brand is not just about visual connection but about the five senses. Therefore, the more memorable the experience, the more successful it will be.
People remember a third of what they hear, half of what they read, and one hundred percent of what they feel, which is why they remember both positive and negative experiences. Sharing these experiences with others generates your reputation.
This new world no longer adapts to the old world, and an educational system reform is needed where creativity cannot be limited. Unfortunately, this system is based on a tradition of not being allowed to make mistakes to discover new things. Every time you make a mistake, you are punished, a system based on memorization rather than rationalization, teaching indoctrination instead of education.
Therefore, we need to be different because if we are all the same, who will you choose? Being different attracts attention but also generates fear and thoughts like, 'If everyone does it this way, why should I do it differently?'
However, being different can lead you to success more quickly. Step out of your comfort zone, away from fear of failure. Surround yourself with people who can contribute knowledge, and don't be afraid to explore your new limits.
Limits only exist in your mind.
Dare to be unique.
